Biography

Ricardo Rendón. Bringing together a range of materials and allowing multiple formal solutions, media and working procedures, the work of Ricardo Rendón serves as a complex diary where the different actions are recorded, documented and accumulated in the transformation and manipulation of the materials and work places. In this way, a sheet of paper, or wood or the exhibition space are transformed into a stage that is determined by the creative activity that takes place within its physical, symbolic and aesthetical limits, as well as the working materials, an environment where to showcase the work as a fact and evidence of the creative fulfillment.

Ricardo Rendón has won several national and international recognition and his workhas been exhibited at the Museo Reina Sofía, The Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Videobrasil, Videolisboa, Museo Experimental El Eco, Museo Tamayo, Museo de Arte Carrillo Gil and Laboratorio Arte Alameda. His work is part of important art collections such as Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation CIFO - Miami USA, The Colección Jumex - Mexico City, Fondation Daniel Langlois - Quebec, Canada. Heteaches at Centro Nacional de las Artes (National Centre for the Arts) and since 2006 he is a member of the  Sistema Nacional de Creadores (National System of Creators). He lives and works in Mexico City.
