Biography

María José Cuevas, Mexico City, 1972.
She combines her work among graphic design, photography and video. She has collaborated in various projects in the cultural field. Her work has been presented in different festivals and art spaces in Mexico and abroad, like: ZONEMA: Chelsea Center for the Arts (New York), TRANSITIO_MX International Electronic Arts and Video Festival (México), IFCT Int'l Fest of Cinema and Technology (United States), Museum of Contemporary Art (Cali, Colombia), VIDEOFORMES, Art video et Nouveaux Medias (France), Stuttgarter Filmwinter Festival for Expanded Media (Stuttgart, Germany), NTSC-MX-PAL Conversions of Video FOTOESPAÑA 06 (Madrid, Spain), VIDEOZONE 3- 3rd International Video Art Biennale - The Center of Contemporary Art,  (Tel Aviv, Israel), Second Cycle of Latin American Video Art; IVAM Institut Valenciá D'Art Modern (Valencia, Spain) ... among others. She won the Audience Award for her video Mal de Amores at the CUADRO Festival 2005 in Mexico City and Honors for the video Las Sirenas no existen at the International Women's Film Festival of Cologne, Germany. Currently she is recording her first feature documentary "Bellas de Noche".
